At Young, Thagard, Hoffman our philosophy is to provide efficient legal services, in a responsive manner, to obtain effective results for our clients. Since the establishment of the firm, our clients have primarily been insurers and their insureds. Young, Thagard, Hoffman, LLP has been annually listed in Best’s Recommended Insurance Attorneys Directory since its first publication. This is a claim few firms can make. Many of our clients have been our clients for decades and some have been clients for over eighty years. We stand with our clients, and they stand with us.
Responsive
We help claims professionals do their jobs. We respond to claim representatives, adjusters, and clients promptly. We move matters forward as quickly as possible. We know most of our individual clients have not been involved in legal claims and we reassure them by keeping them informed of the status of the claims against them. We know claims professionals are required to resolve claims so we provide essential information as quickly as possible so claims professionals can effectively make the necessary decisions that guide the course of the matter.
Efficient
Not all claims are the same. We direct a matter to the litigation team best suited to handle it. We move quickly to identify early solutions when appropriate, such as using limited but targeted discovery, early mediations, and providing insight on claims that may be undervalued.
We leverage the use of technology to quickly obtain and share information with claims professions, clients, and opposing counsel.
Results
We have tried hundreds of cases to verdict with excellent results. We are thoroughly prepared for mediations and trials. Many courts in Georgia require mediation before a case is placed on a trial calendar and we recognize that mediation is an excellent tool for limiting risks to insureds and insurers.
However, we seek the opportunity to try cases that need to be tried.

Odum & Young
In 1938, Cam U. Young, Jr. joined John B. Odum at his practice on the fifth floor of the Strickland Building in Valdosta, Georgia as an associate lawyer. In 1943, the firm changed its name to Odum & Young and the firm continued its general practice until 1951 when John Odum died. Cam Young continued the firm under the name Odum & Young until 1955.

In 1962, F. Thomas Young, Cam's son, joined the practice and it became known as Young & Young. New fields of practice were added and the geographic area in which the firm found itself representing clients expanded as well.

Young Thagard Hoffman’s attorneys have litigated and tried cases in the federal and state courts throughout Georgia, in front of judges and juries, before the Court of Appeals of Georgia, before the Supreme Court of Georgia, before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and in mediations and arbitrations.
